It’s been 2 years since we have had a book fair – so I just want to explain (and remind you of) a few things…
Your student will get to make a wish list at the fair. They will be told to look at books and write down the price. They will also be told that this is a “Wish List” of books we wish we could have, but to discuss with family and maybe you can buy one, but maybe you can’t. And that’s ok!
The book fair books will cost anywhere from $2 and up. The most I have ever seen on a book was $45.00 for a special edition. Otherwise, the average price is between $5-$10. And the “Toy” items are $.50 to $5.00.
This year, you have a computerized option to send money with your student by going on our book fair site,
https://www.scholastic.com/bf/saintjohnpublicschool2
and setting up an e-wallet account. You can put in $10 (or however much you want) and that is what your student gets to spend. And you don’t have to be there. Any carry over can be used to shop the next book fair in May or online any time.
We are doing a sucker pull. Suckers cost $.25 cents each. Students are told to look at the bottom of the stick for a color. If there is a color, they win a prize. Yeah!
We are drawing names in each elementary class for gift certificates to the book fair. Lucky winners will get their notice on Tuesday, Feb. 1st.
Also, for every book purchased, students can get their name in for the final drawing. We have some Pokeman cards and other items to give away.
We have a ton of FUN planned for this book fair. You won’t want to miss it!
