St. John Staff, we have been discussing the possibility of starting a health and wellness initiative for staff and students. To get this off the ground, I am thinking we start with the following:
Two days a week (e.g., M & W, 6-7 a.m.) staff workout times. One day we could do a high-intensity workout and the other day a low-intensity workout. We could also do them both (high and low intensity) on the same days but separate the workout groups.
Two days a week (e.g., T & R), 6-7 a.m.) student workout times. One day we could do a high-intensity workout and the other day a low-intensity workout. We could also do them both (high and low intensity) on the same days but separate the workout groups.
I would like to have a leader/trainer/coordinator for either/both groups. This would be a paid hourly assignment. There will be an expectation to turn in a weekly workout plan for the group(s). The leader/trainer/coordinator could workout with the group if they see fit.
This initiative could start as soon as December 11.
This initiative will take place in the old gym.
If you are interested in possibly being a trainer/leader/coordinator, please reply (not reply all) to this email. If you think this would be an initiative you would part in, please reply (not reply all) to this email.

Northern Lights Girls and Boys Wrestling.

Last week we had a Culture Day!! The Hajicek/Slater family did some amazing dancing. Students in grades 5-8 also moved from classroom to classroom learning about different cultures. The cultures they learned about were Mexico, China, Canada, France, Germany, Brazil, and Greece.

Boys Wrestling practice today (Monday) 11-27-23 will be running later at 5:30-7:00. Girls Wrestling will be after school as usual.

Here are a few pictures from today's Culture Fest. A special thanks to the Slater/Hajicek/Allery family for the teachings/presentation and the opportunity for our students to learn and dance. The smiles on their faces were priceless!
I want to commend our students for your impeccable behavior and positive participation. We are very proud of you and happy to see the enjoyment on your faces!
As for our staff, I could not be more pleased with your commitment, enthusiasm, and effort that went into our Culture Fest event. The staff and student engagement was one of a kind. The knowledge and understanding we gained from the various cultures/countries (e.g., Germany, China, Egypt, France, Mexico, etc.) was very impressive.
I wish each and every student, staff, and stakeholder a happy holiday! Enjoy family, good food, and relaxation over the course of the next few days!
Go Woodchucks!
