5th and 6th Grade Boys Basketball Practice has been moved to the old gym after school. They will be done between 5:00 and 5:15.

Our school is working with the American Institutes of Research (AIR) and the National Writing Project (NWP) to evaluate an instructional coaching program developed my NWP to improve the writing instruction of middle school English and Language Arts (ELA) teachers- the Coach. Teach. Write. (CTW) program. The CTW will take place between the fall of 2023 and the spring of 2025 with a sample of approximately 60 middle schools in total from multiple states. I would like to commend our St. John kitchen staff/department on their recent food inspection conducted by the North Dakota Health and Human Services. It was an impeccable review!! They had zero (0) risk factor violations and zero (0) repeat violations.
I would like to thank the kitchen staff for their attention to detail and their thoughtfulness when serving our students and staff nutritious and healthy meals- all while having smiles on their faces! We sincerely appreciate the love that is in every meal and interaction.
The Kindergarten Field trip scheduled for today (October 5th) has been postponed until next Tuesday, October 10th.

Due to the Early Out there will be NO 5th and 6th Grade Boys Basketball practice today.
5th & 6th Grade Boys Basketball will take team and individual pictures, Monday, October 9th. Envelopes will be sent home today.
PICTURE DAY IS: Friday, October 6th! Envelopes for ordering were sent home. (PK students can come in any time before noon or wait until Nov. 15th on retake day). If you order with the envelope, you must have your envelope filled out completely and have the correct change. The school and photographer are unable to make change.

Due to the weather the 4th Grade Field Trip to the Peace Gardens today has been postponed to a later date. More information will be sent home with the students at a later date.

5th & 6th Grade Girls Basketball end of the year pizza party will be held in the cafeteria after school today. They will be done by 4:30
JH VB practice will be in the old gym right after the elementary boys practice. We will go until 7 pm.

Mrs. Marty's art classes have been very busy. The 7th graders did a peer conferencing for art appreciation commenting on basic shape, space used, grounded objects, and details. 6th grade were given a drawing prompt. They were allowed 1 minute to view examples , 2 minutes to recreate basic image and details relying only on their memory. HS did a drawing prompt activity as well.
Here is the schedule for the JH VB tourney in Rolla. The bus will be leaving the school at 8:15. Please be there before hand.
Kindergarten learned the letter C this week! Throughout the week they were able to earn coins to spend at our coffee shop for coffee (hot cocoa) & cookies! We used our dramatic play skills to become baristas and serve the other kindergarten!
