Parents, students, and stakeholders of the St. John School District: Yesterday, March 5, 2024, the Rolette County Sheriff’s Office coordinated two drug dogs to come into our school and scan the premises. The initiative took approximately 25 minutes to scan the school. The St. John School and Rolette County Sheriff’s Office considered yesterday a win as this is another level of safety that is being provided by our partnership.
Parents, I want to remind you to be diligent in your conversations with your children about using/possessing/distributing illegal substances, especially on school grounds. We advise checking their backpacks, jackets, clothing, etc., on a weekly basis to ensure you know exactly what they have on them. Remember, in the event we ever discover someone illegally using/possessing/distributing illegal substances in school, this would not only be a policy violation, but it would also be a crime.
Our routine moving forward when we use the drug dogs will be a more thorough scan which will include but not be limited to the checking of their backpacks, jackets, etc.
We appreciate your support in protecting your children, our students, at all costs.

The St. John Public School would like to thank the Rolette County Sheriff’s Office for coordinating the use of the two drug dogs in an effort to discourage the use/possession/distribution of drugs in our school system. Together, we have a very healthy and successful partnership, and this is just another effort where we are attempting to keep our students, staff, and school safe. Thank you very much, Rolette County Sheriff’s Office!
