Last week, we were notified by the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction that St. John Public School District #3 was awarded the 2023 National ESEA Distinguished School. St. John Elementary/Middle School has been acknowledged as a Category 1 (Exceptional student performance, and academic growth, for two or more consecutive years) distinguished school. There were nearly 100 schools recognized nationwide and one of two schools acknowledged in North Dakota. This is the second year in which St. John has been recognized for this prestigious honor, as last year St. John High School was awarded this.
St. John Public School District #3 is extremely excited and proud of this accomplishment. We believe this is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and willingness to go above and beyond for our students. We want to acknowledge that this achievement reflects the collective relationship between students, parents, staff members, school board members, and every stakeholder who participates in assisting the development of our students/children.
Stay tuned as we will be announcing our intentions/plans for celebrating this esteemed award! Go Woodchucks!!
I would like to extend our appreciation to our students and musical staff for the exceptional performance last night at our 2023 Winter Concert. It was extremely entertaining and engaging! The music selections and talent exhibited last night were phenomenal. I would also like to commend the student behavior while they were spectators. I am extremely proud of your respect for your fellow classmates and staff. You should be very proud. In addition, I would like to thank everyone who stayed for the duration of the performances. Our students surely appreciate it!

St. John Staff, we have been discussing the possibility of starting a health and wellness initiative for staff and students. To get this off the ground, I am thinking we start with the following:
Two days a week (e.g., M & W, 6-7 a.m.) staff workout times. One day we could do a high-intensity workout and the other day a low-intensity workout. We could also do them both (high and low intensity) on the same days but separate the workout groups.
Two days a week (e.g., T & R), 6-7 a.m.) student workout times. One day we could do a high-intensity workout and the other day a low-intensity workout. We could also do them both (high and low intensity) on the same days but separate the workout groups.
I would like to have a leader/trainer/coordinator for either/both groups. This would be a paid hourly assignment. There will be an expectation to turn in a weekly workout plan for the group(s). The leader/trainer/coordinator could workout with the group if they see fit.
This initiative could start as soon as December 11.
This initiative will take place in the old gym.
If you are interested in possibly being a trainer/leader/coordinator, please reply (not reply all) to this email. If you think this would be an initiative you would part in, please reply (not reply all) to this email.
